Venue Rules

Welcome to Rixey Manor! We want your day to feel relaxed and joyful, while keeping everyone safe and protecting our historic home. We’re flexible and aim to say “yes” whenever possible—these guidelines help everything run smoothly.
Décor & Environment: Please avoid loose glitter, non‑biodegradable confetti, fake petals, and rice. Outdoors, use only real petals. Do not tape/nail décor to historic surfaces without approval. Enclosed candles are usually fine indoors; open flames otherwise discouraged. S’mores are outdoors only (use a dark tablecloth). Chairs and furniture should not be left outside overnight.
Noise & Timing: Outdoor amplified music and speeches end by 10:00 PM. You’re welcome to continue indoors if you add Extra Party Hours [Insert link placeholder]. Without an extension, events typically wrap around 10 PM with a staff‑coordinated last call and send‑off.
Pets & Children: We’re pet‑friendly with prior written notice—keep pets supervised and leashed/crated as needed (pet‑sitter recommendations available) [Insert link placeholder]. Children are welcome; please plan active supervision (there are stairs, a rooftop, and a pond). We can set up a kids’ room or movie space if helpful.
Safety & Accessibility: A one‑day event liability policy is required [Insert link placeholder]. Newer areas (ballroom, main‑floor restrooms, patio) are ADA‑friendly; historic bedrooms and the rooftop are stair‑access only. We’ll help with accessible parking/ramps and any special needs. Wedding‑safe sparklers allowed under staff supervision; no fireworks. Smoking/vaping is outdoors only in designated areas.
Parking & Transportation: On‑site parking is free. Because rideshare is unreliable in the countryside, we strongly recommend hotel shuttles for guest safety and simplicity; we can advise on timing and providers [Insert link placeholder]. Overnight cars are okay to collect the next morning.
Cleanup & Check‑Out: We handle venue setup/breakdown and heavy cleanup (including trash removal). You/your vendors gather personal décor, gifts, leftover alcohol, and rentals to a designated spot; we coordinate pickup and handle the rest. A refundable damage/security deposit or card on file may apply per contract.
