Brunch Upgrade

Brunch Upgrade
Highlights
Optional Sunday Brunch Upgrade lets you host a farewell brunch at Rixey Manor.
Great for extending celebration and easing the “post-wedding blues.”
Works best if more than 12–14 guests are attending; smaller groups may just use included continental breakfast.
Options: hire a caterer, DIY/family-style, or go off-site.
Brunch Upgrade extends Sunday checkout from 10am → 1pm.
Spaces: Front porch, back patio, dining room, or ballroom depending on size and weather.
Menu ideas include bagels, fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, pastries, and mimosa stations.
Communicate plans to guests in advance (casual attire expected).
Fee covers extra hours/staffing; food/catering is separate.
Typically runs 10am–12pm, with cleanup by 1pm.
Extending the Celebration
After the big day, a post-wedding brunch is a wonderful way to continue celebrating and spend extra time with family and friends. At Rixey Manor, we offer an optional Sunday Brunch Upgrade, giving you relaxed time to say farewells before everyone heads home.
Feeding a Crowd vs. Intimate Brunch
If you only have 12–14 overnight guests, our included continental breakfast (bagels, yogurt, fruit, coffee) may be plenty.
If you want to invite more guests (extended family, bridal party staying off-site), then a dedicated brunch upgrade is wise. This requires extra planning for food, seating, and setup.
Catered Brunch or DIY
Hire a Caterer
Carpe Donut (a local favorite) can provide donuts, coffee, and light breakfast.
Other local cafes/caterers can offer buffets with eggs, bacon, fruit, etc.
Caterer option = less stress; they handle food and setup while you relax.
We coordinate their arrival and any rentals (chafing dishes, etc.).
DIY/Family-Style
Families sometimes prefer to cook together or set out bagels, pastries, and fruit.
Kitchen available, but coordinate if heavy cooking—must be cleaned afterward.
Keep DIY simple (pastries, fruit, casseroles).
Only choose DIY if you have helpers lined up—you’ll be tired post-wedding.
Go Off-Site
Skip on-site brunch and gather at a local restaurant (e.g., Country Café in Culpeper).
This option avoids cleanup and doesn’t require the upgrade.
Extended Checkout
Standard Sunday checkout = 10am.
With brunch upgrade = 1pm checkout.
Allows time to eat, mingle, and enjoy without rushing.
We adjust your contract to reflect extended hours.
Space and Setup
Front Porch or Back Patio → fresh-air brunch if weather is nice.
Dining Room → seats ~14, with foyer/library for overflow.
Ballroom → can host 30+ for large brunch gatherings.
Linens: we reuse wedding linens if Monday pickup; if not, we use in-house stock.
Menu Ideas
Bagels or pastries with cream cheese/jam.
Fresh fruit platter or salad.
Yogurt and granola.
Egg dishes (quiche, frittata, scrambled eggs).
Breakfast meats (bacon, sausage).
Mimosa station with leftover bubbly and OJ.
Coffee/tea (we brew larger urns if needed).
Sweet treats: leftover cake or donuts.
Carpe Donut option: fresh cinnamon sugar donuts (needs outdoor power hookup).
Communication
If inviting beyond overnight guests, tell them in advance (website or insert).
Mention casual attire is fine—everyone will be relaxed and possibly hungover.
Costs
Brunch upgrade fee covers venue access and staff until 1pm.
Food costs are separate (catering or groceries).
Pros of Brunch
Softens the “wedding blues” (see Wedding Blues Support).
Lets you reminisce, say goodbyes, and enjoy food you probably missed at the reception.
Creates a meaningful final chapter to the weekend.
Time & Flow
Brunch typically runs 10am–12pm.
Coffee ready by 10am; food ~10:15–10:30am.
Departures usually begin around noon.
By 1pm: check-out, final walkthrough, keys returned.
Clean-Up
Caterers handle their own cleanup.
DIY brunch → assign helpers to tidy.
We handle trash removal.
Couples must still gather belongings from rooms by checkout.
Closing
Brunch is the relaxed, cozy epilogue to your wedding. Whether catered or casual, it allows you to wind down with loved ones, laugh about dance floor antics, and share donuts in sweatpants before heading home.
