Post-Wedding Checklist

Post-Wedding Checklist
When the weekend winds down, a bit of organization and delegation will make your post-wedding clean-up easier:
Pack Personal Belongings First: Tackle the bedrooms/suites where you stayed. Collect all your personal items from upstairs before dealing with the reception spaces. (It’s usually best to do this the morning after, when you’re not exhausted.)
Give Yourself Time: If yours is a one-day wedding (not a full weekend), plan to stay at least an hour after the last shuttle leaves before your official checkout. This buffer gives you time to gather your things without rushing. All upstairs rooms should be left as you found them, so do a final sweep for any items.
Enlist Help for Gifts/Leftovers: Coordinate in advance who will help pack up gifts, cards, leftover alcohol, and personal décor. Rarely will all the gifts and booze fit in the couple’s own car! Plan for a friend or family member to take some things, and have empty bins or boxes ready for packing.
Strip Beds & Consolidate Trash: Before departure, strip any used bedding in the Manor’s rooms and drop linens in the laundry utility room (behind the kitchen). Gather all trash into bags and leave them in that utility area as well. This greatly helps the staff with turnover.
Don’t Worry About Decorations: You do not have to personally clean up every decoration or leftover item from the reception. If there are decorations, favors, or other non-personal items left behind, it’s fine – the Rixey team will either reuse them for future events or dispose of them for you. So feel free to leave any unneeded extras on the tables at the end of the night.
With a bit of planning, your send-off and pack-up can be smooth. Then you can truly relax and start enjoying married life!
