Sprinkles

Sprinkles

For a grand finale or a fun twist, consider adding some “sprinkles” of excitement to your celebration:

  • Sparkler Exit: One of the most popular and stunning ways to end the night at Rixey Manor is with a sparkler send-off. We do allow it, but only certain types: please purchase the wedding-safe sparklers (these are usually long, smokeless sparklers specifically made for events). We have the process down to a science – our staff will coordinate lighting and lineup, so you get that perfect sparkling tunnel to run through. No need for you to get buckets or lighters; we’ll handle all that. A few tips: longer sparklers (36-inch) are best, because they burn for over 2 minutes, giving your photographer plenty of time to capture the moment. And we usually do the sparkler exit toward the end of the reception (after last call), so plan it as a true “exit” where you two are leaving and guests are seeing you off. It makes for magical photos and an unforgettable end to the night.

  • Confetti or Petal Toss: Some couples opt for a celebratory toss at the ceremony conclusion or exit. As noted, disolvable in water biodegradable confetti or real petals can be used outdoors. For example, if you want guests to toss petals as you walk back up the aisle married, that’s allowed (and looks gorgeous in photos). Dried lavender buds are another eco-friendly option that also smell lovely. Avoid paper or foil confetti – those are not allowed since they’re not easily cleaned up. Tip: If doing a toss, have the officiant make a quick announcement or have it noted in the program so guests know to grab the confetti cones or bags before you come down the aisle.

  • Champagne Pop: A fun photo-op is a champagne spray – popping a bottle and spraying it in celebration (best done outdoors, obviously!). If you want to do this, coordinate with your photographer. We’ve seen hilarious and epic shots of a groom popping champagne with his groomsmen or the couple spraying it together as the bridal party cheers. We’ll provide a broom after for any corks or spills. Just use real champagne (or cava) for a good spray – sweet wines or prosecco can be sticky. And maybe don’t aim at your faces… we’ve also seen champagne-in-eye incidents!

The idea of “sprinkles” is to add a little extra flair. These are by no means required, but if you’ve dreamt of that iconic sparkler photo or confetti raining down, we’re here to make it happen safely and smoothly. Just remember to buy those long sparklers in advance (enough for about half your guest count is usually sufficient, since not everyone grabs one, but we suggest one per guest to be safe). Store them in a cool, dry place until the wedding.

When the time comes, we’ll line everyone up, pass out sparklers, and use our torches to get them lit quickly. Then it’s your time to shine! Run (or dance) through the sparkle tunnel, kiss in the middle if you want an epic photo, and soak in that exhilarating moment – it’s like the grand finale of the best show of your life.
