We know finding the right vendors can be daunting, so we’re happy to share our insider knowledge! Over the years, we’ve built relationships with some truly stellar wedding professionals. While you are free to hire anyone (as discussed in Vendor FAQs), many couples ask us, “Do you have any recommendations for ____?” The answer is yes — and we’ve got you covered.
Our Philosophy
The best vendor for you is one who understands your vision, style, and budget. We don’t have an exclusive vendor list and we don’t charge vendors fees to be recommended. Any talented, professional vendor is welcome at Rixey. That said, we do keep a list of trusted vendors we’ve seen consistently do a fantastic job here. Some have worked with us for over a decade and feel like extended family on wedding days.
Where to Find the List
You’ll typically receive our recommended vendor list early in the planning process (either as a PDF or in your client portal). If you need it and haven’t gotten it yet, just ask! The list includes contact information and websites for each vendor.
Categories We Can Help With
We can point you toward excellent professionals in almost every wedding category, including:
Planners/Coordinators: If you want more support beyond our included coordination.
Photographers & Videographers: A range of styles, from light & airy to dark & moody.
Florists: Whether you want grand floral installations or simple greenery.
Caterers: We know caterers who excel with both food and service, and they’re familiar with our prep kitchen and timing.
DJs & Bands: We’ll recommend DJs who keep the dance floor full while following our sound rules, plus live bands or ensembles for ceremonies.
Hair & Makeup Artists: Professionals who are talented, reliable, and enjoyable to spend a wedding morning with.
Officiants: Religious, secular, or custom — we’ll guide you to professionals legally authorized in Virginia (an online ordination alone isn’t enough; friends must be court-authorized).
Bakeries/Desserts: From wedding cakes to donuts, cupcakes, pies, or groom’s cakes, we know the best.
Rentals: From vintage lounges to donut walls and tents, we know who delivers here reliably.
Unique Additions: Pyrotechnics, live painters, caricature artists, bounce houses, or anything else — if it’s possible, we can refer the right pro.

We don’t take commission or kickbacks from vendors. Our recommendations are purely to help you. We’ve seen which vendors delight couples — and which cause headaches. We’ll give you our honest take so you can make the best choice.
