We are proud to offer a library of décor items that you can use for free! Rixey Manor has accumulated a lot of goodies over time, and we keep an updated inventory on our website for you to browse. Before you rent or buy something, check our Décor Borrowing List – you might find we already have it. If there’s an item you were hoping for that’s not on our list, let us know; we’re always taking suggestions for useful pieces to acquire.
A few notes on borrowing décor from us:
How to Browse & Reserve: We’ll send you the link to our inventory list. It includes things like various signs (welcome sign, bar menus, etc.), easels, card box, cake stands, table numbers, lanterns, drapery, candle holders, and even some furniture. If you see something you’d like to use, just tell us and we’ll set it aside for your weekend. It’s first-come-first-serve, but since we only do one wedding per weekend, it’s virtually always available to you. We’ll confirm at your final walkthrough which items you want to borrow, and our team will have them ready.
Small Items We Have: To give you an idea, here are a few small items you do not need to bring because we have them on-site: snack baskets, irons & steamers for steaming dresses/suits, votive candle holders (a bunch of clear glass ones), basic glass vases, scissors and lighters, etc.. We keep these on hand so you don’t have to remember things like “who has a lighter for the unity candle?” or “did anyone bring scissors to cut the cake ribbons?”. Just ask us and we’ll provide.
Larger Decor Items: We also have some bigger decor pieces available. For example, Rixey Manor owns three ceremony arbors: a white birchwood arch, a lightweight circular metal arbor, and a wooden hexagon arbor. Many couples use these for their ceremonies (you can decorate them with flowers or fabric). If it’s on the list, you can use it. This can save you hundreds in rental costs.
Condition and Care: All borrowed items are provided as-is. They might have minor wear (which usually isn’t noticeable to guests). Please treat them kindly so we can continue offering them. Our staff will handle the setup of any large items (like moving an arbor into place). For smaller decor you borrow (say a sign or lantern), you or your decorator can set it up wherever you like, or ask us for help. At the end of the night, our team will collect our items – you don’t need to pack them up, but please don’t accidentally pack our items with your stuff! We’ll do a sweep to make sure we retrieve everything.
Always Ask: If you’re looking for something specific – chalkboard signs, gold easels, a donut wall, etc. – ask us if we have it or can get it. Worst case, we don’t; best case, we do (or we know someone local who can lend it). We love expanding our collection based on what couples actually want to use, so your feedback is welcome.
Using the Décor Borrowing List is a win-win: less expense and hassle for you, and it makes us happy to see our decor getting loved! We’ll go over the inventory during planning meetings to remind you what’s available. There’s a little bit of everything, so definitely take advantage.
