Drop-Off Instructions
Highlights
You can drop off items at Rixey Manor up to a week before your wedding.
Schedule your drop-off time in advance so we can be ready for you.
Ideal items to drop early: alcohol, mixers, disposables, décor, signage, and favors.
Alcohol and bar supplies are stored in the Bar Room; décor and other items in the Dining Room.
Perishables should be delivered closer to the wedding (usually Friday).
We’ll help inventory your drop-off to make sure nothing is missed.
Keep valuables (rings, license, tip envelopes) with you until the weekend.
Please remember the house, and the team will be in "getting ready mode", this means the Manor may look like it isn't clean and tidy and the staff will probably be in sweats!
We offer the convenience of dropping off your wedding items in the week leading up to your event. This can be a lifesaver — instead of showing up on your Move-In Day with a hundred boxes, you can spread the load and let us store things safely until setup.
Schedule the Drop-Off
Contact us to arrange a date and time. We usually accept drop-offs up to a week before your wedding. Tuesday through Thursday are the most common drop-off days for Saturday weddings. Even if you can’t be there in person, a planner, family member, or friend can bring items — just let us know who to expect.
What to Drop Off
Bring anything non-perishable that you won’t need before the wedding:
Alcohol, sodas, mixers (best done in one trip since they’re heavy)
Disposables like cups, napkins, and straws
Décor, signage, favors, welcome table items
Guest book, card box, photo frames (non-fragile)
Dress, suits, shoes!
If you have welcome bags for hotel delivery, take those directly to the hotel. If they’re for on-site guests, bring them here.
Where It Goes
Alcohol and bar supplies: Stored in the Bar Room. We unpack and check quantities so nothing is missed. We may start chilling champagne and will let you know if you’re short on anything.
Décor and other items: Stored in the Dining Room. This becomes our staging area until setup begins on Friday. Fragile or valuable items (custom art, delicate toppers) can be placed in a more secure or climate-controlled location.
Perishables: Most perishable items (flowers, desserts, cakes) should arrive Friday. If you need special storage (freezer or fridge), let us know.
Checklist Upon Drop-Off
When you arrive, we’ll do a quick inventory together. Bring your packing list if you have one so we can double-check. We’ll also ask clarifying questions (e.g., “These two boxes say ‘centerpieces’ — will someone be arranging them, or are they pre-made?”). If certain items depend on conditions (like “don’t put out programs if it’s windy”), please flag that for us.
Final Delivery on Move-In Day
Even with an early drop-off, you’ll likely still bring personal and last-minute items on Move-In Day (Friday): clothing, rings, license, vendor tip envelopes, or any extras. On that day, we’ll help you move décor boxes into the rooms where they’ll actually be used (ceremony, reception, cocktail, etc.). Heavy lifting is on us — you just need to point things in the right direction.
Keep Valuables With You
Our Manor is safe, but we strongly advise you to keep valuables with you until the weekend. Do not drop off your wedding rings, cash, or gift cards. Bring those when you check in or stay overnight.
Why It Helps
Dropping off early reduces stress enormously. Couples often say unloading by Thursday let them arrive Friday feeling light and relaxed. After you drop off, we begin subtle prep — checking alcohol amounts, staging décor, and making sure everything is in order. We treat your items as if they were our own, so you can rest easy knowing everything is safe and ready.
In Summary
Schedule your drop-off, bring the bulk of your items early, keep valuables with you, and let us take it from there. By the time you roll in on Friday, the heavy work will already be done — and you’ll be able to focus on the fun.
