Pinterest Board Guidance

Pinterest Board Guidance
Pinterest is an amazing tool for inspiration, but it can also become overwhelming during wedding planning. We recommend a strategic approach:
Define Your Vision First (Off Pinterest): Before you even open Pinterest, take a step back and jot down a vision. How do you want your wedding to feel? What are the three most important elements to you? What vibe or story do you want it to convey about you as a couple? By answering these questions first (on paper), you’ll have a guiding light and won’t get lost in the sea of images.
Organize by Category: Create a few specific boards for key aspects of your wedding – for example: Flowers, Bridal Party Attire, Centerpieces, Cake Ideas, Photo Poses, etc. This way, when you pin ideas, they’re sorted and easier to reference later. It prevents “inspiration overload” on one giant board.
Remember Pinterest ≠ Reality: Many images on Pinterest are from styled shoots or luxury budgets – in other words, they’re staged and often not realistic for a normal wedding timeline or budget. Don’t feel “inferior” if your own wedding can’t have a thousand imported candles in a field or a five-tier designer cake on a mountain top! Take inspiration from those images, but adjust expectations knowing your wedding will be beautiful in its own way.
Trust Your Decisions: Once you’ve chosen something – your color scheme, your dress, your centerpieces – stop second-guessing yourself. It’s tempting to keep scrolling and find new ideas, but that often leads to doubt or decision fatigue. Pin your favorite ideas, make the decision, and then move on to the next task. Your choices will come together into a lovely, unique day.
By using Pinterest intentionally, you can gather ideas without drowning in them. And of course, feel free to share your Pinterest boards with us! We’re happy to look through them to understand your vision (just don’t be surprised if we remind you to keep it practical).
