Table Layout Options

Highlights

  • Rixey offers multiple table sizes: rounds, rectangles, sweetheart, and cocktail tables.

  • Max guest count: ~150 using all connected spaces.

  • Round tables: 72” seats 10 comfortably; 60” seats 8.

  • Rectangular tables: 6’ seats 6; 8’ seats 8. Combine for estate or head tables.

  • Sweetheart table (for 2) and cocktail rounds (6 available) included.

  • Full inventory: 11 x 6’ rounds, 10 x 5’ rounds, 9 x 6’ rectangles, 8 x 8’ rectangles, 2 x 4’ sweetheart tables, 6 cocktail rounds.

  • Linens: specific sizes recommended for each table.

  • Don’t forget extra tables for gift, guest book, photo booth, desserts, buffet, kids’ table, DJ, etc.

  • Photo Booth/Band/Large Decor/Stations is not accounted for in those numbers so please let us know before you commit to something requiring a larger than 10ft footprint outside of the normal tables and chairs.

  • Layout options tailored at Final Walkthrough. Comfort prioritized over maxing capacity.

Table Sizes & Capacities

  • 72” Round (6 ft round): Seats 10 comfortably (12 max if not using chargers). With chargers, max is 10 for comfort.

  • 60” Round (5 ft round): Seats 8 comfortably (10 max if cozy and no chargers). We recommend 8.

  • 6’ x 30” Rectangular: Seats 6 (3 per side). Add 1 on each end (total 8) if no chargers, but 6 is best.

  • 8’ x 30” Rectangular: Seats 8 (4 per side). With ends, can fit 10, but 8 is most comfortable.

  • Two Rectangles Joined: Two 6’ tables end-to-end = 12’ table = 12 seats (6 per side). Two 8’ tables end-to-end = 16’ table = 16 seats (8 per side).

  • If you are only seating guests on one side - for a head table - half that number.

  • Ends typically left empty to avoid seam seating.

  • Sweetheart Table: Special 4’ x 30” table for 2 people (we have two available).

  • Cocktail Tables: 30” round (6 available). Can be tall (42”) or standard (30”). Usually no chairs.

Inventory Available

  • 11 x 72” rounds (6 ft)

  • 10 x 60” rounds (5 ft)

  • 9 x 6’ rectangles

  • 8 x 8’ rectangles

  • 2 x 4’ sweetheart tables

Linen Sizes

  • Cocktail (30” round): 132” round linen (floor-length; tie with sash for elegance).

  • Cake Table (30” round): 132” round (puddles slightly, that’s fine).

  • 4’ Rectangular (sweetheart): 88” x 132” rectangular.

  • 5’ Round (60”): 120” round linen.

  • 6’ Round (72”): 132” round linen.

  • 6’ Rectangular: 88” x 132” rectangular.

  • 8’ Rectangular: 88” x 154” (two 8’ tables = ~88” x 190”).

⚠️ Don’t forget linens for extra tables (gift, guest book, beverage, etc.). Most commonly overlooked: two 88” x 132” linens for guest book/cards table and beverages table.

Specialty & Additional Tables

  • Gift & Card Table: 6’ table on porch or patio, later moved inside for safety.

  • Guest Book Table: Sometimes combined with gift table; later relocated inside.

  • Pre-Ceremony Drink Table: 6’ table for lemonade/cider, usually on porch/patio.

  • Seating Chart: Escort cards → 6’ or round table. Large chart → easel.

  • Photo Booth Prop Table: Small table in bar area.

  • Dessert Table: 6’ or round for cupcakes/cookies/candy buffet.

  • S’mores Table: 6’ table on patio, dark linen recommended (messy!).

  • Cocktail Rounds: Up to 6 placed around dance floor/patio.

  • Buffet Tables: Up to 3 x 6’ tables end-to-end (18’ buffet). Needs 3 x 132” linens.

  • Kids’ Activity Table: Round or rectangle in a corner; butcher paper option available.

  • DJ Table: 6’ rectangle. Near outlets.

  • Sweetheart/Head Table: Sweetheart = 4’ table for 2. Head = series of rectangles (e.g., three 8’ tables for 18 people). Long “estate” tables possible but not recommended for >100 guests.

Layout Tips

  • Ballroom: Fits ~10 round tables of 6’ = ~100 guests.

  • Patio: Used for overflow under a tent if >100 guests.

  • Front Lawn: Great for outdoor dining under stars/tents.

  • Dance Floor Placement: Usually center ballroom. Sometimes expands post-dinner by moving tables.

  • High Chairs: Two available; placed as requested.

  • Multiple Rooms: Dining room, library, porch can be used for overflow. We’ll pipe in sound for speeches.

Finalizing Layout

  • Options/templates presented at Final Walkthrough (4–6 weeks out).

  • Every layout customized to your guest count and style.

  • Comfort prioritized: we avoid cramming max capacity. Happy guests > tight squeeze.

  • Reception tables usually set Friday; ceremony chairs set day-of (weather).

  • Couples/families often place favors/decor Friday after tables are positioned.
