Real Rixey: The Morning of the Wedding
It is the morning of Janice's New Year's Eve wedding. Her ceremony is at 7pm. We asked her how she is feeling.

It is the morning of Janice''s wedding. Her ceremony is at 7pm tonight, which means we are in the rare position of being able to do a real-time interview.
So, it''s the morning of your wedding. How are you feeling?
Anxious.
Why?
The anticipation. It has been building for over a year. It is a combination of excitement and anxiety. I do not get to control everything, or control how it all goes.
What is the thing you are finding hardest to let go of?
Tim has not met half my family yet, and I am not sure how all the different family groups are going to get along. I hope everyone behaves.
What are you most excited about?
Marrying Tim. Making it official.
How is Tim feeling?
Excited. And just as nervous as I am. He is ready to be done with wedding talk, for sure. And kind of sick of me asking questions.
What are you least looking forward to today?
The attention. It is the first time we are going to have a significant amount of attention on us, ever.
First thing you''re going to do when you''re done?
Eating fast food. I gave it up for the New Year last year, but that is more of a resolution ending than a wedding thing. And reading a book. Every time I have sat down with free time recently, I remind myself to do wedding stuff instead. It will be nice to just sit down and read. Oh, and delete my Pinterest account.
What made you pick a New Year''s Eve wedding?
The pictures of the last one here. It was so beautiful on the rooftop, under the lights.
What would you have done differently?
Not procrastinated. Although that is really a life choice, not a wedding choice.
What is the one thing you would never change?
Getting married at Rixey. And I am not just saying that because you asked. And the groom and the bridal party.
Anything else you think someone should keep in mind on the morning of their wedding?
It is normal to have an "I just want to get this done" feeling. That is okay.
